The Township Board normally meets the second Thursday of each month at 7 PM in our Township Hall.
Public Notices: The Wells Township board is accepting resumes for township clerk. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, registered to vote and have lived in Wells Township for at least 30 days. Send resumes to: Wells Township, 2744 Frankford Rd, Caro, MI 48723. Write “Clerk” on the outside of the envelope. Resume must be received by October 25, 2017. The Wells Township Board will be having a special meeting on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 6:00pm at the township hall to appoint a new Township Clerk. Planning Commission meeting dates for the 2017 year are February 7, April 4, September 19 and November 2. All meetings start at 7:00pm and are held at the Township Hall. All notices are posted in compliance with Public Act 267 of 1976, as amended, the Open Meetings Act, MCLA 41.72a (2) (3) and the Americans With Disabilities Act.   The Wells Township board will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services, such as signers for the hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting, to individuals with disabilities at the meeting or public hearing upon 10 days notice to the Wells Township board.   Individuals with disabilities requiring auxiliary aids or services should contact the Wells Township board by writing or calling the following: Karen Varney, Clerk 2190 Frankford Rd, Caro, MI 48723. 989-673-4481.

Solid waste and recycling collection: Download our Recycling Flyer Here Pick up day is Fridays. Place all materials at curbside prior to 7:00am on collection day. If New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day fall on the normal scheduled collection day, pickups for the week (including that day) shall be postponed by one day. One (1) bulky item is allowed with solid waste items and includes: carpet (must be bundled no more than 4ft in length and secured for one person to handle), water softeners, mattresses & box springs, furniture and large appliances. Items containing Freon must have Freon removed and must be tagged by a licensed technician. Doors need to be removed for public safety. Call Republic Waste before setting Freon items at curbside. No bag and/or can shall exceed fifty (50) pounds in weight nor exceed four (4) feet in length. No hazardous materials; liquids of any kind; yard waste mixed with solid waste; carbonated beverage containers; large automobile/truck parts; whole tires; stone, rock or dirt; steel, iron, large amounts of construction or demolition material or any other as banned by the State Statute. Wells Township holds a tire collection every Spring. Usually in May and notice will be given via township website and the notice board at the township hall.
